With over 25000 apps on the App Store, App reviews is important. With user reviews being the best yardstick for making a purchase decision, Apple is updating the review system

Apple this week took another major step towards improving the controversial rating system on its fledgling App Store by allowing shoppers to filter reviews of applications by version number. So you would be able to see ratings for different versions of the same software. Previously if the first release of a particular software was buggy the subsequent versions which would be fixed also faced the bad pr that the previous version has generated.

The new system would also display the review date. Sorting by “Most Helpful,” “Most Favorable,” “Most Critical,” or “Most Recent.” etc.  Previously Apple has started to take down fake reviews by accepting reviews only from customers who have purchased the app.
