Tweetie was rejected by Apple because the site twitter had objectional content. This brought lot of critism to the appstore approval process. But to be fair to Apple, the amount of traffic it has to handle such mistakes can occur. Nice to see that Tweetie is now approved!
Apple’s policy states:
“Applications must not contain any obscene, pornographic, offensive, or defamatory content or materials of any kind (text, graphics, images, photographs, etc.), or other content or materials that in Apple’s reasonable judgement may be found objectionable by iPhone or iPod Touch users.”
Tweetie, a Tweeter client, includes “Trends” section of Tweeter which has some obscene words along with the f-word. Interestingly, the app was nevertheless accepted in the App Store.
